Design Process

Landau|Zinder cultivates a mutually satisfying client-architect relationship by providing creative solutions that satisfy our constituents’ particular needs.

In commencing the architecture design process, we meet with the appropriate committees to understand the basic vision for congregation and their building. Attending services, and meeting with everyone from congregants to administrative staff, focus groups, and committees allows our team to develop a strong relationship and chemistry with our clients.

Building on this, we produce a program document that outlines our understanding of the group’s requirements and provide fundamental recommendations. This becomes the basis for general design concepts and a range of possible design solutions. Landau|Zinder refines these solutions based on our in-depth dialogue with the clients. We provide 2-D and 3-D images that help clients visualize their future.

With the congregational representatives, we make adjustments and choose the best solutions. Our design team contributes our architectural expertise in creative design, best practice, and project management; our team of engineers and specialized consultants; and our knowledge of current trends in Judaic design.

Thus, we provide our clients a streamlined process from a congregation’s initial desires and dreams, steeped in Judaic tradition, into significant architecture that expresses their spirituality.
