Chabad of Hunterdon County had been renting space to service the community and now will have a new permanent home on a property approximately one mile west of their previous location. The property is 7.2 acres on Route 31 and Georges Place in Clinton, New Jersey. With access to the city’s water, sewer, and utilities, the location is ideal.

The Chabad’s new design and facilities include a “boutique sanctuary” with 100-150 person capacity, integrated into the surrounding landscape, with sensitivity to adjacent neighbors. Program spaces comprise adult education, a communal focal point with library/media center/living room area, a youth lounge, office space, and a predominantly meat kitchen. A special space is a multipurpose room with 200-300 person capacity for the holiday carnival.

Educational program spaces include 10 classrooms and a preschool playground, which will also accommodate a small summer camp. Entered through a welcoming lobby area suitable for socializing, the new Chabad of Hunterdon County is designed with an understated aesthetic to inspire warmth and intimacy rather than awe.
